New audiences throughout the country are enjoying one of Lang's critically acclaimed works, The Calling (excerpt from Splendid Isolation II) as Ailey II performs the piece for its sixth consecutive season. The work appeared on the company's program at Towson University in September and will be performed on tour in Toledo and Columbus, Ohio later this month.

Lang is currently in residence at Princeton University where she is staging Prayers. The piece was premiered in 2008 at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts and will be performed by the Princeton students at their Spring Dance Festival in February.

This month, Lang is also teaching Composition and Choreography classes for the ABT/NYU Steinhardt Master's Program at American Ballet Theatre.

Jessica Lang Dance - New York, NY

"Wearing simple earthtone costumes by Elena Comendador the dancers weave an expressive tapestry of movement which is essentially lyrical while a 'silent scream' motif reminds us of the underlying tragedy that was the work's inspiration. Kana and Clifton together created an atmosphere that was spiritual but free of sentimentality. The power and assurance of Clifton's partnering has the signature Jessica Lang style: free-flowing and poetic, gently underscoring Kana's beautiful vulnerability and grace."
