  Happy New Year! After taking time this holiday season to reflect on the past year's milestones, Jessica Lang Dance is thrilled to begin 2012 by sharing some exciting news. This summer JLD will have its full company debut at Jacob's Pillow during its 80th anniversary season! The program will feature a diverse selection of Lang's work including Lines Squared, Among the Stars, Solo Bach and The Calling. View the full festival announcement here
  In other special news, JLD has been chosen to receive a Choreographic Sponsorship, generously supported by The Rockefeller Brothers Fund from Dancers Responding to AIDS (DRA). JLD dancers Kana Kimura and Clifton Brown will perform an excerpt from Lang's work i.n.k. in DRA's Dance From the Heart concert at the end of January. For more details about this benefitclick here.    
  JLD will jump right into the new year performing at the annual Association of Performing Arts Presenters (APAP) conference held in NYC. The company will appear in the Joyce Residency Artist Showcase at Joyce SoHo on January 9th. For full showcase details visit JLD's website.      
   2012 begins with another big announcement: Lang has received a commission to create a new work on Birmingham Royal Ballet. This month Lang travels to the UK for her first visit with the company. Her new work will receive its premiere at the International Dance Festival Birmingham in May and then continue on the company's North - East Tour. In the fall of 2012 Birmingham Royal Ballet will perform Lang's work at the Birmingham Hippodrome and Sadler's Wells in London. 

  Ailey II will begin its 2012 tour in Hamilton, Bermuda where its first program will include Lang's The Calling (excerpt from Splendid Isolation II) at the 2012 Bermuda Festival of the Performing Arts

  On the college front, Lang will soon conclude her residency period with Princeton University where she has been staging her work Prayers.Concurrently, shewill begin working with Marymount Manhattan College, staging excerpts from her piece La Belle Danse.
